How many days is a cleanse?

A cleanse can be any length of time you want. We recommend a few different approaches to juice cleansing depending on how you’re feeling. One of our two most popular options is our 3-Day Juice cleanse which is comprised of 18 total 16, oz juices that you would enjoy over the course of 3 consecutive days. Our 3-day juice cleanse provides an instant and invigorating reset button for individuals that feel prepared to depart from familiar habits and set the tone for new intentions that lighten the body and spirit and enable any desired weight loss.

Can I eat during a juice cleanse?

It's up to you. We have a list of acceptable raw fruit and vegetable options — but we don't recommend it if you can.  The energy our body would typically use to digest food has now been assigned to your body's deeper cellular tissue, blood stream and internal organs. Take this juice cleanse as an opportunity for your body's natural healing process to go deeper and create the positive changes it is so powerfully able to perform with the help of raw fruit and vegetable enzymes. Think of it this way: If you are in the midst of cleaning your home [closets, carpets, and all!] and a guest you adore comes over, you will likely stop cleaning and turn your attention to your guest and help them feel welcome. Similarly, in the body when we embark on a path of juice cleansing, the best thing we can do is keep going for maximum benefits that set the stage for new and positive habits and cellular organization. However, if you do get hungry, nibble on a few crunchy sticks of organic celery, a banana, an apple, or a few leaves of romaine. An avocado with a little lime and olive oil is also welcome. More than anything we are looking to create an atmosphere of mindfulness. And this is where we truly begin to thrive.

Can I drink caffeine? Can I have a cup of coffee?

We recommend you wean yourself off caffeine, specifically coffee before embarking on a juice cleanse. Try to cut back to one cup per day of your favorite caffeinated beverage. Coffee is acidic and dehydrating - it conflicts with the benefits that the juice cleanse offers. However we don’t want you to feel too uncomfortable. If giving up coffee is too difficult [and we understand!] you may however approach each day like this: Prioritize water consumption first and foremost. Drink at least 16 oz of water upon waking with 1-2 T of lemon, lime, or apple cider vinegar. Try a cup of green tea instead. Green Tea is a caffeinated beverage that also has alkaline forming properties when consumed. For a roasted deeper flavor, try Yerba Mate. Next, enjoy your first juice. After this sequence, if you still want a cup of coffee, reach for a cup of cold brew which is naturally more alkaline or whip a little bit of coconut oil into your classic cup of joe. For a DIY cold brew latte, add 2-3 tsp of coconut or MTC oil per 12 oz of coffee or cold brew into a blender and whip until light and frothy. You’ll never miss your morning latte :)  Serve warm or over ice and keep moving forward.

How much water should I have?

Drink plenty of purified water, 70 fluid ounces or more a day. Drinking water helps us flush out toxins and clear our systems. As a general rule, we recommend drinking half your weight in ounces of purified water or light and refreshing herbal teas. For example if you weigh 140 lbs, 70 ounces of water would be your daily target. The alkaline effects of juice cleansing will actually make drinking water more desirable and delicious. However, do not drink water beyond your capacity if it does not make you feel comfortable. Listen to your body. It will be your guide.

Can I exercise?

Stretch! Every morning, every day. This acts to air out your lymph nodes and create space between your vertebrae and joints. Stretching is like giving yourself a big hug. Give yourself some love! Feeling extra special motivated? Engage in light forms of exercise. Try a Level I or II yoga class, take a brisk walk, or a light jog. Fresh air and sunshine will only add to your body’s purification process.

Do I need to prepare?

One week before your juice cleanse try to encourage the following into your daily schedule: 

+ Wean yourself off caffeine, specifically coffee. Try to cut back to one cup per day of your favorite caffeinated beverage. Coffee is acidic and dehydrating - it conflicts with the benefits that the juice cleanse offers.

+ Cut back on alcohol consumption, drinking no more than two alcoholic beverages per week. Alcohol is also acidic and inhibits our ability to absorb nutrients by damaging intestinal villi.

+ Drink plenty of purified water, 70 fluid ounces or more a day. Drinking water helps us flush out toxins and clear our systems.

+ Try to reduce meat intake to 3-4 ounces per week, which is equivalent to a portion smaller than the palm of your hand. Meat is another highly acidic food source and leads to inflammation.

+ Reduce dairy, soy, and gluten intake.  Before the juice cleanse, try to eat a diversity of whole grains and starches - specifically vegetable-based to help prepare your system to a few days without these foods.

+ Avoid refined sugar and processed foods completely.

+ Enjoy lots of greens, vegetables, and fruits - Especially in their raw state. Try making an organic Almond Milk shake with fresh Pineapple, Kale, Celery, Parsley and Cucumber. Et Voila! Greens. Check!

+ Stock up on herbal teas and experiment!

+ Start EVERY morning with a tall glass of warm water with fresh lemon.
