1. The 12 hour Fast: For one or more days before beginning your juice cleanse, we encourage you to enjoy a daily 12 hour fast. It takes the body 8 hours to complete a full digestive cycle, and 4 additional hours for the body to perform other vital detox functions. During this time, you are welcome to drink water stay hydrated with herbal teas. This practice is amazing and something you could connect with indefinitely. It helps create a more restful sleep, manage food cravings, produce enzymes, and over time will help with weight loss. I personally do this everyday and I love it! Example: Last Juice or Meal at 6PM, First Juice or Meal and 6AM the following day.
2. Warm water with lemon: Start your morning with 16 ounces of purified warm water with lemon or lime. Organic fresh lemon or lime juice would be ideal! However I also love Volcano brand organic lemon + lime juice as an easy alternative. Doing this helps to warm and stimulate your digestive tract and cleanse your body from evening detox functions. A very important step and not-to-be-skipped! It is calming, alkalizing, and deeply hydrating. Plump up those cells with this liquid clarity! It furthers enzyme production and helps you wake up in a beautiful way. Follow with Yerba Mate or Green Tea and 15-30 minutes of light stretching + meditation.
3. 2 hours in between each juice: Enjoy your first juice whenever you feel ready! Enjoy each consecutive juice in the order we've arranged every two hours thereafter. Drink water and herbal tea in between and connect with awakening activities whenever you need energy: (1) stretch all large and small muscle groups, (2) enjoy a walk around the block, get some fresh air! and take a nap if you can :). Body brush + take a warm apple cider vinegar bath before falling asleep at a reasonable hour. Journal and reconnect with your intention for doing the cleanse. Think of all the things you are grateful for and write them down :
4. Celebrate! You are doing such a wonderful thing for your body + mind by deepening your everyday awareness with a juice cleanse. You are also supporting your body an abundance of with its ultimate source of energy: ENZYMES! The enzymes you introduce during this period will enliven all vital organ function, help cleanse the digestive tract, and purify the small intestine where 90% of digestion and energy-conversion occurs. The first day can be the most challenging, but believe in yourself! What you are doing right now will ignite lasting changes in your body + palette for days to come.
5. Exiting the Cleanse: Repeat the 12-hour fast and begin your morning with another fresh juice if you can [trade in those jars and get one for free!], or try creating your own green smoothie at home using organic nut-milk, mango /pineapple, and assorted leafy greens, cucumber and celery. Start first, however with 16 oz of warm water + lemon/lime and a little light exercise, meditation, or stretching. Things you could commit to forever! Lunch can be larger [with things to chew] but the portion should not much bigger than your fist. Focus on steamed vegetables or a gentle salad with avocado with not too many grains, and no dairy products or animal proteins. Keep it simple! Dinner should also be small and simple as well. Keep it seasonal and colorful! You are wonderful! Congratulations! Listen closely as you move forward.
