Butterfly Snack Packs

There’s nothing better than seeing your child’s eyes light up in response to something as routine as snack time. This is how we make a spring-themed snack surprise that makes them smile every time.

1. Gather your materials. You’ll need two different dry snacks, a standard clothespin, a sandwich bag, markers, googly eyes, pipe cleaners and a glue stick.

Plate with blueberries and pretzels and adjacent to markers, gluestick and clothespins

2. Place the two snacks into a sandwich bag, making sure it is sealed tight and keeping the two sides as separated as possible. Use your hand as a divider if necessary.

3. Put the bags aside and color the clothespins using the markers. Glue on two googly eyes and two rolled up pipe cleaner strips. We used markers, googly eyes and pipe cleaners for decorations, but you can use whatever craft supplies you have on hand to make faces and antennae.

4. Cinch the bag down the middle with your thumb and index finger, place the decorated clothespin right in the center and voila!
